Our Board & Governance

Strategic and accountable stewardship

The Centre has a strong, skilled and passionate Board who guide our strategic direction and ensure we meet our obligations as a transparent and accountable community organisation.

Our Board includes women from a broad range of professional backgrounds including senior women leaders from across the community, legal and government sectors.

OUR BOARD

Rachael is the Chief Operating Officer at the National Indigenous Australians Agency and a certified HR practitioner with the Australian Human Resources Institute.

Rachael Jackson - Board Chair
Michelle is the Executive Director of the Women & Children Division at North Canberra Hospital. Michelle is a Registered Midwife with post graduate qualifications.

Michelle Thinius - Vice Chair

Nicola is the Centre's Treasurer. She is a chartered accountant who has been working in finance roles for over twenty years and has previous governance experience in LGBTQIA+ community orgs.

Nicola Gleeson - Treasurer
Louise is a Chartered Secretary, Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Louise Starr - Secretary

Zakia has over a decade of experience working in the community sector, and holds a Bachelor of Law/Economics.

Zakia Patel
Shannon has more than 20 years experience in the Australian Public Service including over a decade in senior executive roles. She is Yidinji mob from Far North Queensland.

Shannon Frazer
Janelle is a proud Gamilaroi and Yuwaalaraay woman. She has over two decades in law enforcement ensures strong integrity, working within rigid compliance and using best practice frameworks.
