The Divorce Clinic provides advice and representation to women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds seeking a divorce.
We can help draft Application for Divorce, serve the other party with the Application, and represent you in a divorce hearing in court.
The Clinic prioritises women who are particularly vulnerable for reasons including domestic violence, low income, isolation and cannot access to legal assistance and representation to assist with getting a divorce.
We understand that obtaining a divorce can be crucial for women to move forward with their lives or stop ongoing abuse. However, divorce procedures may be complicated if you were married overseas, don’t speak English, don’t have access to important documents, and if your ex-partner is overseas.
The Centre provides the Divorce Clinic in conjunction with our pro bono partner with Sparke Helmore.
