Vanessa Graf is the Program Manager/Managing Solicitor of the Mulleun Mura Aboriginal Women’s Access to Justice Program.
Ness is a descendant of the Butchulla and Mulunjarli nations. Ness joined the centre in early 2022 with significant experience in both Federal Government and First Nations legal and justice services.
Ness grew up on Darkinjung country on the Central Coast, NSW where she worked as an Indigenous Specialist Worker supporting First Nations women and children through the Apprehended Domestic Violence Order process in the local Magistrate’s courts. Driven by this experience, Ness studied law at Deakin University and graduated with Honours as the first Indigenous woman from the university to receive the Dean of Laws Award. In 2018, Ness also received her Master of Laws from Deakin University.
Ness was admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in May 2020.
Ness’ qualifications and lived experiences as an Aboriginal woman enables her to provide high quality legal assistance to First Nations women in a culturally appropriate and safe, trauma-informed manner.
