Katrina Fanning
Katrina Fanning joined the Board in 2017 and is its Deputy Chair.
Katrina is a Wiradjuri woman from Junee, NSW and has lived in the ACT for over 25 years.
Katrina is the Director of Coolamon Advisors, an Indigenous majority-owned and managed consultancy based in Canberra. She has a broad range of expertise across Government policy and operations. Katrina has deep public sector experience at SES levels and has been responsible for leading complex operational and policy activities for a number of organisations.
Katrina is a past Chairperson of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body. She believes the ACT should be leading the nation in outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and that the best chance at this rests in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander led solutions.
In 2020, Katrina was named ACT Australian of the Year. This followed her selection as Canberra Woman of the Year, and ACT NAIDOC Person of the Year in 2014. Most recently, she was named 2023 Canberra Citizen of the Year.
